Executive Director

James is responsible for overall strategic direction, oversight and management of the Centre for Youth and Development. Previously worked with International and Local NGOs in Malawi and the Government Community Development. He has over 10 years of practical experience managing Community Development programs.

Chifundo Chidumu

Finance and Administration Manager

Chifundo has over 7 years of experience in the finance sector. She is a diligent young lady, multi skilled, self-motivated and committed to her work, running passion projects within the organization especially on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights targeting girls and women. Her MOTO is ‘Never give up’.

Yewo Msiska

Programs Lead

Yewo Msiska is the Programs Lead with an extensive experience in Project Planning and Management; Financial Management; M&E; Resource Mobilization; and Gender and Social Inclusion. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Science) from the University of Malawi.

Vigilant Mtambo Vijimbo

Regional Program Manager - North

Vigilant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology from mzuzu University. He is a computer hardware, software and Network tech lead at Centre for Youth and Development. I always put the needs of project end-users first to ensure that my work is practical and usable.

Sylvester Mtumbuka

Regional Program Manager - Central

Sylvester joined CYD as a volunteer in 2017, worked as a Technician from 2019 to 2021. He has been working as a Regional Program Manager since 2021. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Information and Communication Technology from Mzuzu University. His role includes managing Central region activities and Lilongwe CYD team..

Doreen Eddah Norah Luhanga

Program Officer

Doreen Eddah Norah Luhanga is a Program Officer for Centre for Youth and Development. Graduated from University of Livingstonia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering. Previously worked as an assistant Management Information Systems officer at Chitipa District Council.

Miriam Sphiwe Mwaphoka

Field Officer

Miriam is a hard working lady, who loves working with farmers in rural communities for so many reasons including imparting them with knowledge and skills of good agricultural practices that they are self reliant in crop production and are able to transform their livelihoods with the proceeds they get after selling their produce.

Nat Tantakasem

Project Development Consultant

Nat started working with the CYD as part of her MSc International Development and remains involved from her base in Thailand. An enthusiast of social innovations and sustainable development, she has 5+ years of experience in development practice and has conducted assignments in Fiji, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Tajikistan.

Wonganie Phiri

Technician - ICT

Wonganie Phiri is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information and Communication Technology from Mzuzu University. She is a computer technician responsible for Computer networking, all hardware and software problems, pc maintenance and pc troubleshooting.
